Former rugby chief Rizly Illyas has expressed confidence the new government would investigate the abuse of finances and other wrongdoings in the game’s administration between 2012 and 2020.
Illyas said complaints in the past to the sports ministry ombudsman in this regard had gone unheeded.
According to him, Asanga Seneviatne (2012-2018) and Lasitha Gunaratne (2018-2020) had misused a combined Rs. 55 million during their tenures.
Also, nothing had been done against getting Fijians to represent the country by granting them fake Sri Lanka passports, lankadeepa.lk quoted him as saying.
