An IMF delegation led by its mission chief for Sri Lanka Peter Breuer is expected in the island on 02 October.
A review on the third tranche of the IMF’s 2.9 billion bailout loan is takes place in the coming week.
The delegation will meet new president Anura Kumara Dissanayake and top officials in the finance ministry and the Central Bank, said government sources.
In his address to the nation, the president said he would work closely with the IMF while reviewing certain agreements.
His senior advisor Prof. Anil Jayantha said they would raise matters pertaining to achieving the tax and other objectives without burdening the poor.
