The People’s Alliance (PA) with the ‘chair’ symbol is considering contesting the parliamentary polls under the SJB-led alliance, political sources say.
The PA consists of the SLFP and the New Alliance led by Anura Priyadarshana Yapa.
Several rounds of talks have already taken place in that regard.
The PA supported Ranil Wickremesinghe at the presidential election.
With Wickremesinghe ruling out contesting and the parties that supported him failing to reach agreement, the PA has decided to ally with the SJB-led alliance.
SJB sources say they would not accept anyone with corruption or fraud accusations into their alliance.
