SJB leader Sajith Premadasa has urged the government to revisit the IMF pact in order to ease the burden on the public.
He made the call at a meeting with party activists in Colombo West yesterday (16).
Premadasa said he was prepared to support if the government goes for talks with the IMF with that objective.
Unbearable taxes have adversely affected public life and the country cannot go forward with that burden, he noted.
The SJB leader said his party contests the upcoming general election on a promise of amending the IMF pact for the betterment of the people.
