The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), the electricity sector regulator approved the power purchase agreement to build the 300 MW Kerawalapitiya Liquid Natural Gas power plant in Sri Lanka under the new chairmanship and the board members last week.

All parliamentarians are scheduled to be vaccinated against Covid-19 from today (16).

When the nationalist forces within the government led by Wimal Weerawansa opposed the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, including the clause that permitted dual citizens to hold public office, SLPP national organiser Basil Rajapaksa was able to garner the support of a group of Muslim MPs to vote in favour of the Amendment.
