The Election Commission has informed several state institutions to prepare for a national election, reports lankadeepa.lk.
They include the IGP, government press, CEB, Water Board and the Transport Board.
Government printer Gangani liyanage said they are ready to do the needful when the commission fixes dates for the presidential polls.
Meanwhile, election commission chairman R.M.L. Ratnayake said Grama Seva officers were asked last week to report about any shortage of polling stations.
District election chiefs have been told to have a census on election staff and vehicles.
The commission has announced the election would take place between 14 September and 16 October.
