Founder of the DP Education IT Campus project Dhammika Perera has recommended giving an international level airport to Jaffna as the next development step in order for it to transact with the world and become economically strong.
He was speaking at the handover of certificates to 4,558 students of his nine IT campuses in the district yesterday (30).
Perera said he has already assisted hospitals in Jaffna to improve the health of its people.
He said he first brought development to Jaffna with the construction of its railway line as the secretary to the subject ministry at the time.
Speaking further, Perera said his IT campus concept has been able to lay the foundation for a mechanism to ensure equal education for all by providing smart classrooms to every school.
Already, 26 schools in Jaffna have been given smart classrooms, he added.
Religious dignitaries, MP Angajan Ramanathan, state officials, students and their parents attended.
