A total of USD 8,606 million of foreign debt and interest has not been paid back in the 24 months to 30 April 2024 as a result of the government decision to suspend the repayments temporarily, said the ministry of finance.

The outstanding foreign debt is 6,020 million USD and the interest due is 2,586 million USD, according to the ministry’s report on the status of state finances in the first half of the year.
