Samagi Jana Balawegya parliamentarian Mujibur Rahman has accused president Ranil Wickremesinghe of being an opportunist who uses any opportunity to his advantage.
Rahman told parliament that there had been suspicions if the presidential election would take place, due to the actions of the president and his followers.
Following talk about an election postponement, a petition was filed in the court seeking the same, which Rahman described as an ‘organized crime’.
The president tried to use the opportunity to his advantage, he added.
