The ITAK will contest the general election under its own name and symbol, said M.A. Sumanthiran.
He was speaking to the media following a meeting of the nominations committee on 05 October, reported hirunews.lk.
The nomination lists are yet to be finalized since those for Trincomalee and Ampara are still at discussion level, said Sumanthiran.
The DTNA too, discussed its nomination lists, after which its spokesman Suresh Premachandran urged all northeastern Tamil parties to ally together.
A request has gone to the ITAK’s leader and general secretary in that regard, he said.
