The Election Commission is to make six political parties redundant over the failure to resolve disputes in their general secretary positions.
They are the UPFA, Eelavar Democratic Front, Esath Lanka Podujana Party, Eksath Lanka Maha Sabha, Lanka Janatha Party and Sri Lanka Progressive Front.
According to news1st, these parties will not be able to contest the upcoming general election.
Talks convened by the commission with the aim of resolving their disputes have failed.
