The Police Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa has confirmed that the security detail for former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, which includes 50 Special Task Force (STF) personnel, will remain unchanged.
However, he noted that the necessary number of personnel required for the former president’s security will be reviewed and allocated soon, according to adaderana.lk.

Meanwhile, acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasuriya has refuted rumours that the security detail for former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been withdrawn, news1st.lk reports.
He clarified that a total of 163 personnel are currently assigned to the former President's security.
This includes 50 officers from the Special Task Force, 6 VIP security officers, and several other reassigned officers.
