Two Sri Lankan drug traffickers taken into custody in Madagascar have been brought home.

A flight from Mumbai, India with Nandun Chinthaka alias ‘Harak Kata’ and Salindu Malshitha alias ‘Panadura Salindu’ on board arrived at Katunayake airport around 7.20 am today (15).

A CID team was there to receive them into its custody from an escort team of CID and STF officials from Madagascar.

Neth FM’s ‘Kanin Konin’ reports that several top policemen with connections to Lakshitha have become worried by his arrest.

His mother filed a writ petition in the Court of Appeal yesterday (14) seeking an order for the protection of his life while under arrest.

The father of Karunaratne lodged a complaint with the Human Rights Commission (HRCSL), claiming a threat to the life of his son.

He will be in danger of getting killed while under arrest, in the same manner Makandure Madush, Kosgoda Tharaka were killed, said the complaint.

The father has sought the HRCSL’s intervention to ensure the safety of his son.
