A total of 260 retired MPs, including former ministers, draw monthly pensions at a cost of Rs. 16,900,000, according to sources in parliament.
So do 176 widows, for whom the monthly cost is Rs. 9,600,000, while six children aged below 18 or with special needs receive allowances every month.
All these payments are being made as per parliamentary pensions act no. 01 of 1977.
