With the final delimitation report to be made available before the end of March, nominations that have been accepted for the local government polls will have to be cancelled, said Delimitation Committee chairman Mahinda Deshapriya.
Once handed over to the government, the report will be gone through by a review committee to rectify any shortcomings, he said.
Anyway, the LG polls could still take place under the existing delimitation method, said Deshapriya.
A fresh date to hold the election, postponed from March 09, is to be announced by the Election Commission on March 03.
