The Lanka Coal Company is warning about a halt to operations at the Lakvijaya power plant if no money is made available to purchase the coal it needs.

Its chairman Shehan Sumanasekara told the media yesterday (04) that quick solutions were needed in this regard.

He has written to the power and energy minister, seeking 12.32 million US dollars to make payments for the coal required by February 03.
