The Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Freedom People’s Council and the Supreme Lanka Council are proposed to ally under a leadership council to contest the local government polls, reports lankadeepa.lk.
Accordingly, the Freedom People’s Alliance will have a three-member leadership.
The leader of a political party involved in the proposed alliance said a final decision is yet to be taken.
Also, the SLFP is to get 40 per cent of membership of the executive committee, while the other two parties receive 30 pc each.
Preliminary arrangements for the formation of the alliance are expected to be completed by the end of this week.
