Some women choose a livelihood most others do not pick as a means of supporting their families.
One such woman is found at Malwala in Ratnapura. After losing her husband, she now runs a ‘tyre shop’ to provide for her three daughters.
“Normally, women are not strong like men. But, I did not say this is men’s work and we cannot do it. Even if we are weak in limbs, we can go any length if we have a strong will,” E. Pushpalatha has told BBC Sinhala Service.
