The country has achieved a significant victory by reviving the economy and recording foreign reserves in excess of five billion US dollars within two years of bankruptcy, said finance state minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
In March 2024 alone, reserves grew by 715 million USD, he said.
Siyambalapitiya also described the past week as a victorious one for the working class.
The gazetting of the increase of daily wage of estate workers to Rs. 1,700 and the raising of the interest on EPF deposits to 13 pc were their victories, he said.
