Socioeconomic injustice is rampant in the country today, said opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.
Addressing a Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) event in Weeraketiya, he said kleptocracy exists in society in the name of democracy.
He called for due place to be given to the skills, instead of allowing a minority in the society to prey on the people.
The economy collapsed not due to the fault of its citizens, but due to the rulers who considered the country to be their personal property, he added.
The SJB would create youth development funds and obtain their participation in policymaking.
A clear change in education will be brought about to create one million new entrepreneurs, he added.
