Former SJB chairman Sarath Fonseka has placed a deposit to contest as an independent candidate after being denied by the party the opportunity to run for the presidency, said the party’s media spokesman S.M. Marikkar.
He told journalists at the party’s election operations office in Kolonnawa yesterday (09) that it can be seen how Fonseka fulfils the contract given him by Ranil Wickremesinghe during the election.
He has no programme whatsoever to build the nation, is without subject knowledge or a team of skilled persons, added Marikkar.
