Businessman Dhammika Perera has decided against contesting at the upcoming presidential polls, according to unconfirmed sources.
The reason given is said to be a personal one.
Perera’s presidential candidacy was to be announced tomorrow (07) at 7.30 am at the party head office at Nelum Mawatha, Battaramulla.
The original venue was to be the Nelum Pokuna theatre premises, but it had been changed.
Poster campaign?
Meanwhile, a poster campaign was launched last night (05) indicating that Dhammika Perera would enter the presidential race.
Some political analysts however noted that this poster campaign could very well be a part of a bigger propaganda initiative.
