The district committee of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) in Anuradhapura has decided to support incumbent Ranil Wickremesinghe at the presidential polls.
The district convention decided with a vast majority to do so as grateful people, said district leader S.M. Chandrasena following a meeting at his office at Kurundankulam today (30).
It was attended by more than 200 persons, including former north central province chief minister S.M. Ranjith Samarakoon, former provincial councillors, electoral organizers and MPs.
Incidentally, Chandrasena was among those who supported a SLPP politburo proposal yesterday to field its own candidate.
