Nimal Siripala de Silva has no legal right to function as chairman of the SLFP until he obtains a court ruling in his favour, says general secretary of the UPFA Thilanga Sumathipala.
The real owners of the SLFP are the masses, said Sumathipala, expressing sadness over the government-backed de Silva’s faction padlocking the party office and acting like thugs.
Sumathipala was speaking to the media at the Ananda Rajakaruna Mawatha office in Punchi Borella.
Sumathipala also wrote to de Silva on 17 July over this matter.
