The rulers themselves cannot decide if the country is bankrupt no longer, said opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.
Making that decision is up to international rating agencies, and they are yet to find the country eligible to be so, he said.
The opposition leader was speaking after donating smart classroom equipment to St. John’s College, Kalutara yesterday (24).
Premadasa accused the government of disregarding those rating agencies and lying to the public that the country was now free of bankruptcy.
He urged the people to keep a tab on statistics to avoid being deceived by the government in that manner.
