JVP politburo member Samantha Vidyaratne says farmers do not benefit from tax relief being offered by the government as a national election nears.
The entire country needs a political change, he said, adding that the motive behind the reliefs and what happens thereafter are seriously questionable.
Instead of finding the proper solutions, the government offers temporary ones, Vidyaratne said, adding that the situation would worsen as a result.
