SLFP chairman Maithripala Sirisena, who is presently on a visit to the US, visited the Washington DC office of the Global Peace Council on 15 February.
There, he was hosted to lunch by the council’s secretary general Larry Moffitt and other officials including Dr. Tageldin Hamad and Tomiko Duggan.
During the meeting, they discussed peace in Sri Lanka and in the world.
Sirisena, who is the Asia-Pacific regional vice president of the council, was presented with a memoir in recognition of his services.
