President Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed Ronald Perera as head of the UNP’s presidential election campaign committee, ‘Silumina’ reports.
President’s counsel Perera will be in charge of coordinating with other parties supporting Wickremesinghe, implement the propaganda aspects and carry out the campaign.
Other members of the committee are UNP’s Colombo district manager Lasantha Gunawardena, executive director Shamal Senarath and working committee member Krishan Theodore.
The president has told the committee to find a suitable place for its head office and to present a plan for the campaign.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has appointed
Sujeewa Senasinghe as head of the SJB’s presidential election campaign.
