Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Chaminda Wijesiri has been accused of leveling false and malicious accusations against assistant secretary general of parliament Hansa Abeyratne.
Twenty four government MPs handed over a letter to the speaker yesterday (13), demanding maximum punishment for Wijesiri.
It noted that under parliamentary powers and privileges, it is an offence punishable by parliament or the Supreme Court to attack, oppose or interfere in affairs of a parliament official within the parliamentary premises.
