Mahinda Rajapaksa, the ideal of SLPP supporters, has been rendered helpless by the present regime, said MP Dullas Alahapperuma.
He told the media in Colombo yesterday (16) that the president and his government had no right or people’s mandate to sell off national assets.
Ranil Wickremesinghe had got cabinet approval on 13 May for his economic transformation bill in an apparent insult to Rajapaksa’s public call three days earlier against divesting state entities, said the MP.
It is an unpleasant joke to implement the ‘Regaining Sri Lanka’ policy statement rejected by the people, he added.
