Sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe said he would go to meet president Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Secretariat since he trusted him, but would refrain from accepting even a glass of water there for fear of being poisoned.
Speaking to the media yesterday (11), he said an appeal would be made within days to the ICC against the suspension of Sri Lanka from international cricket.
The game’s world governing body would be asked as to why it maliciously suspended the island, said Ranasinghe, reiterating that there had been no political meddling in Sri Lanka Cricket.
It is clear that the suspension came at the request of the president of SLC.
With parliament unanimously agreeing that all its top officials should go home, the institution would next be cleansed of all ills, he said.
