The National People's Power (NPP) hosted a meeting with the resident representative of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Christian Skoog and South Asia region director Sanjaya Weerasekara at the JVP’s head office at Battaramulla yesterday (20).
Party leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, secretary Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe and national executive committee member Harshana Nanayakkara discussed with them nutritional and other issues of children due to the economic crisis.
UNICEF officials have explained the measures they are taking, while the NPP for its part thanked the global body for its efforts.
