A video circulating in social media shows a woman getting beaten up by staff of a supermarket in Hanwella for alleged shoplifting.
The incident has taken place at the Cargills Food City outlet at Hanwella.
After CCTV footage of the assault went viral, the Cargills management said they were shocked and ashamed of the behviour of the staff members in question, who have since been suspended.
Also, investigations have commenced, it said, adding stern action would be taken against those responsible.
