The management is accused of destroying the home of an estate worker in Matale soon after upcountry Tamils concluded a support-seeking march to demand citizenship and other rights.
An assistant estate manager is behind an attack on a temporary lodging at Ratwatte in Elkaduwa Estate, correspondents report.
It had been erected after requests were made since 2005 to the management to build a new house to accommodate 14 members of three families.
Last year, they were given a plot of land, where a temporary house was built.
However, a newly-appointed assistant manager destroyed it on 19 August.
A protest took place to denounce the attack, after which CWC secretary and minister Jeevan Thondaman inspected the estate and said the accused and top estate officials tendered a personal apology to the worker.
Thondaman also said his ministry would build new houses in the Ratwatte estate.
