The draft Central Bank Act was passed with amendments yesterday afternoon (20) at a House vote following a day-long debate.
Sixty-six MPs supported its passage, while 24 opposed.
As many as 133 MPs were absent at the vote.
A majority of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MPs voted yes, while those from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, National People's Power and the Freedom People's Congress opposed.
