The National People's Power suspects the Election Commission to be a cat’s paw of president Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The commission is going against its mandate to hold elections on time for the benefit of the people, said its secretary Tilvyn Silva at a protest in front of the Election Commission at Rajagiriya yesterday (08).
He lamented a lack of intervention by election authorities to ensure that long-delayed local government elections are held at least now.
