President Ranil Wickremesinghe has urged the chairman of the Committee On Public Finance (COPF) Dr. Harsha de Silva to work in accordance with the IMF’s extended fund facility agreement since it has been adopted by parliament.

The president was addressing ruling and opposition MPs at the parliamentary complex yesterday (07).

It was at this meeting that president Wickremesinghe proposed SJB MP de Silva’s name as head of the Committee on Public Finance (COPF).

Meanwhile, the new COPF chairman has thanked all those who have placed their trust in him by appointing him to the position.

In a statement, he pledged to work at the committee steadfastly and honestly on behalf of the country.
