The National Chamber of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (NCPM) has discussed their problems with health minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana.
At a meeting, Representatives of the NCPM presented their proposals and plans to the minister, who promised them speedy remedial action.
He said ensuring the supply of high-quality medicines to the public was a top priority of his ministry.
He stressed the need to protect local producers by providing them with the facilities required.
Health secretary Dr. Palitha Mahipala, NCPM chairman Dr. Lohitha Samarawickrama, deputy chairman V. Nadaraja, secretary Niroshan Fernando attended the talks.
