The parliament’s agenda for the coming week will include a resolution for the removal of Janaka Ratnayake as chairman of the Public Utilities Commission (PUCSL), according to sources in parliament.
Either the leader of the House or the prime minister will move the resolution on the basis of a report compiled by the finance secretary.
A simple majority in parliament will be sufficient for Ratnayake’s removal, said the sources.
