Pro-government groups have fabricated news to the effect that the SJB is preparing to join the government for ministerial positions and other privileges, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has charged.
Completely rejecting the news as without any basis, he said he denounced it with due contempt.
In a statement, Premadasa also said the SJB has warned that the incumbent regime, nothing but an extension of the previous despotic Rajapaksa rule, was pushing the country towards a worse depth.
The nudity of its failure will soon become evident, he said.
The country’s unfortunate destiny cannot be averted short of an election, the opposition leader added.
