Victims of a carnage by Indian peacekeepers at Jaffna Teaching Hospital 37 years ago have been remembered.
The month of October in 1987 saw a series of killings by the IPKF, including the one at the hospital.
Indian troops led by Lt. Gen. Dipendra Singh gunned down 47 patients and 21 staff, including three doctors and three nurses.
The building had been shelled by artillery before the raid.
They were remembered at an event at the Jaffna Hospital yesterday (21), where family members and hospital staff offered floral and other tributes to the victims.
