Sri Lankan expatriate workers who are planning to come to Sri Lanka to vote at the upcoming Presidential election are facing difficulties due to the current visa and passport crisis in the country, NPP MP Vijitha Herath said yesterday (09).

He told a news conference that a large number of Sri Lankan expatriate workers were expecting to return to the country for the election and said they are facing difficulties in getting visas while those whose passports have expired are facing difficulties in renewing their passports.

The MP said they doubt if the government has purposely allowed the issues to aggravate.
