A 23-member Sri Lanka football team, captained by Sujan Perera, left for Brunei yesterday (05).

They are set to play two matches on June 8 and June 11.

Sri Lanka and Brunei have faced each other twice in history, with Sri Lanka winning both matches.

The aggregate score stands at six goals for Sri Lanka and one for Brunei.

Sri Lanka’s biggest victory against Brunei was a 5-1 triumph.

Currently, Sri Lanka is ranked 204th in the world, while Brunei is slightly higher at 194th.

A key addition to the Sri Lanka squad is Wade Dekker, an Australian-based player who joined the team in April.

The 30-year-old brings valuable experience, having scored 60 goals at the club level in Australia.

However, Sri Lanka will be missing some important players for this trip.

Midfielder Claudio Kammerknecht, winger Jason Thayaparan, and defender Jack Hingert will all be absent due to injuries.

Their absence will be felt as Sri Lanka aims to continue their winning streak against Brunei.
