Virat Kohli etched his name in the history books during the fifth day of the second Test match between India and Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur and became the first active player in the world to complete the rare feat.

Kohli made an unbeaten knock of 29 in India's seven-wicket victory.

After a disappointing outing in the Chennai Test on his comeback to Test cricket after nine months, Virat Kohli looked his old self in the second Test against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur with important knocks in both innings to help India seal a seven-wicket win in a rain-hit clash.

In the first innings, the former India captain made a stunning knock of 47 runs in 35 balls before making an unbeaten knock of 29 in 37 balls in the fourth innings, as he was unbeaten in the fourth innings as India completed their victory on the fifth day.

In the second innings, Kohli etched his name in the history books by completing 1000 boundaries in Test cricket and became the 26th player in history to achieve the feat.

Kohli is also one of just 13 players to achieve the feat in ODI cricket.

Kohli is only the 8th player in history to complete incredible feat in both formats and the first among active players.

Among active players, Kohli is the third player to achieve after Joe Root (1343) and Steve Smith (1063).

In the ODI format, even Rohit Sharma (1012) recently reached the milestone.

However, no other player has completed the incredible achievement in both formats among players that are still playing and have not retired from international cricket.

As far as Indias are concerned, Kohli is one of five Indians to achieve the feat in Test cricket and four in ODIs.

Kohli, Sachin, and Sehwag have completed 1000 fours in both formats.

In the series against Bangladesh, Kohli made 99 runs in four innings at an average of 33.

He will next be seen in action on October 16 when the Rohit-led side host New Zealand in the first Test of a three-match series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
