The government’s decision to raise the salaries of public servants has been made as per an expert committee recommendation and has no political intention, claimed finance state minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
He said the government, at all times possible, granted maximum relief for the people.
The cabinet has approved recommendations by the committee appointed in consideration of requests for a long time, and headed by former secretary to the president Udaya R. Seneviratne.
"Next, the issues of Samurdhi development officers will be resolved as per the solutions proposed by an expert committee," he added.
