National People’s Power (NPP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake met Japanese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Tsuge Yoshifumi yesterday (22).



Dissanayake said on X that their discussion focused on Sri Lanka's current economic and political landscape, the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Japan, and the future of diplomatic and economic ties.

Special attention was given to the upcoming presidential election.

Minister Yoshifumi also extended his congratulations on our visit to Japan, said the NPP leader.

The meeting was attended by Tsutsumi Taro, Director of the Southwest Asian Division of the Department of Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs, Iwase Kiichiro, Deputy Director of the same division, and several members of the Japan Committee of the National People's Power.
