The SJB met with representatives of the Humane People’s Alliance (HPA) led by Dayasiri Jayasekara at the office of the opposition leader in Colombo this morning (16).
Jayasekara was absent at the talks, but has advised his alliance members to meet the SJB.
SJB’s general secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara, MP Mujibur Rahman, leader Sajith Premadasa’s election operations chief Sujeewa Senasinghe and senior advisor Lakshman Fonseka participated.
At the talks, the HPA agreed to support Premadasa at the upcoming presidential polls.
The HPA had its launch on 20 March together with 20 minority parties.
On the occasion, its leader Jayasekara said that they would support a party that agrees with his party’s policies.
