Government revenue in the first four months of this year has increased by 43.3 percent to Rs. 1218.1 billion compared with Rs. 821.3 billion received by the government in the first four months of 2023.

According to the Finance Ministry this year’s increase is Rs. 396.7 billion compared to the same period last year.

The Ministry of Finance has mentioned this while releasing the mid-year report on the state’s financial performance for 2024.

Achieving this remarkable growth is due to a number of factors including the comprehensive tax measures introduced from June 2022, the performance of the Revenue Administration, the positive economic growth from the third quarter of 2023 and the systematic removal of import restrictions.
