President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s main objective is to build a prosperous country to prevent a recurrence of the economic issues that had now been overcome, said northwestern province governor Naseer Ahamed.
The president is making a concerted effort to bring about development and enable the country to face modern challenges, he said.
He was speaking at the handover of letters of permanency to 800 employees of 33 local government bodies in the province on 08 July.
The governor asked the province’s public servants to keep in mind that his intention is to develop the province in technology, health, education, tourism and other fields.
Prime minister Dinesh Gunawardena chaired the event.
