Leader of the United Republic Front (URF) Patali Champika Ranawaka says he will decide whether to contest the presidential polls on the basis of the decision to be taken by an extensive alliance to be formed to face the election.
He was speaking to journalists after a party meeting in Athurugiriya.
In the event of his not contesting, he said, he would support a suitable candidate with a clear-cut policy.
When questioned about moves to put off the presidential polls, Ranawaka said that would not be possible.
